All I have to say on this Monday morning, is that I need to DO SOMETHING today! Ya, this Ataxia is progressive and a nuisance and some days I just don’t feel like doing anything, but there always is SOMETHING I can do. Maybe some days my speech just isn’t there, but I CAN still e-mail or text a friend; maybe it’s too cold or slippery to venture out, then I could invite someone over; maybe I just don’t feel like going anywhere or doing much today, so I play a word game or read a book for a while. (Or maybe I sit and write something for this blog). I don’t know about you, but I need to feel like I’m accomplishing something. I love the notion of “To-Do lists” because I love the feeling of checking things off.
I believe that volunteering your time can improve your outlook. Especially if your disability has left you in the position of no longer being employed. Having a “mission” can be so uplifting. Continue reading
