History of the NE Support Groups

Some time in the 90’s (we can’t find the actual date), Michael Martignetti and Ben Cantor started the New England Support Group.  It was a small group that started meeting in a library in Belmont.  Shortly, thereafter, they established a relationship with Dr. Schmahmann and therefore started meeting at MGH in Boston.  People came to the meetings from different parts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and Maine.  Since then, the group has been renamed the Boston Area Support Group and there are now separate support groups in Central Mass, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine.
