I am the daughter of Ben Cantor who, along with Michael Martignetti, founded the Boston Area Chapter Ataxia Support Group many years ago. I am currently co-leading that group with Donna Gorzela. My father had an unknown type of ataxia; at this time I have no symptoms myself.
I am a retired RN, and my husband, Paul Bayer, and I live in Arlington, MA. We have a blended family of 6 grown children, 2 of whom live locally and the rest are spread around the country. Since retiring 6 years ago I do a lot of volunteer work: raising assistance dogs for Canine Companions for Independence; providing available food for those who are hungry via Food Link, Inc.; visiting an elderly, homebound person for JF&CS; and delivering books to those who are homebound for the Arlington Public Library. I enjoy doing mosaics and reading in my spare time and dabble in playing violin.
