Word of the Day – moonbow

5001104Today’s word is moonbow. This word refers to a rainbow caused by the refraction and reflection of light from the moon.  Wow, such a cool word!  So unexpected!

This reminds me of  a “Ray of Sunshine” among the many trials of the day. Actually I once wrote an article about this: https://ataxiama.wordpress.com/2014/12/12/a-ray-of-sunshine/

I read a Wikipedia article, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonbow, which said that “Moonbows are relatively faint, due to the smaller amount of light reflected from the surface of the moon….it is difficult for the human eye to discern colors in a moonbow…. the colors in a moonbow do appear in long exposure photographs.”  So, just as in photographing a moonbow, we need to give ourselves extra time when dealing with our Ataxia in order to really see the fabulous glow!
