Word of the Day – Pickwickian

PickwickPapersImageToday’s word is pickwickian.  One of the meanings of this word is used to describe something that truly means something other than its literal meaning.  This word originated from the Charles Dickens novel, Pickwick Papers. In that novel Mr. Pickwick and Mr. Blotton appear to insult each other, however they were only using the offensive words in a Pickwickian sense.

I think a lot of what I do is only in the pickwickian sense when it comes to Ataxia. What I consider ‘running’ is most likely far from what others call it (it’s even different from what I used to consider it myself). It’s all relative.
